The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) Information Security Office seeks a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level IT Associate to join our Information Security team. In this role, you will assist in monitoring security systems, analyzing potential threats, and supporting our efforts to protect our organization’s valuable information assets. Statement of Qualifications

Please provide a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for the hiring manager’s review. Applications received without an SOQ or those that do not respond to the specific questions below will not be considered.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer support and handle technical issues with professionalism and patience.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues from various departments.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in a fast-paced environment. Excellent ability to quickly learn new things.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. 
  • Certifications. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar are desirable but not required.
