Head of Technology & Digital Transformation


Employment Type: Perm/Direct-Hire

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)


Compensation: $250,000-$300,000 + Annual Bonus


SUMMARY:


The Head of Technology & Digital Transformation is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational management of the organization's information technology and technology development functions. This role combines the leadership responsibilities of a Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief Technology Officer (CTO), VP of Information Technology, ensuring that all technology-related initiatives align with the company's business goals. The Head of Technology & Digital Transformation plays a critical role in driving digital transformation, leading innovation, supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and managing the overall IT infrastructure to enhance business performance.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT and technology strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Team Leadership : Build and develop high-performing IT and technology teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Digital Transformation: Lead digital initiatives to drive innovation, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience.
  • Technology Vision : Define the company's technology strategy, focusing on emerging trends and technologies that can provide a competitive advantage.
  • Merger & Acquisition Support: Lead the IT and technology due diligence process during mergers and acquisitions, assessing the target company's systems, infrastructure, and cybersecurity posture.
  • Post-Merger Integration: Oversee the integration of IT systems and technology platforms following mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to operations.
  • IT Infrastructure Management: Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the company's IT infrastructure, managing network, systems, and data effectively.
  • Software & Product Development: Oversee the development and enhancement of technology products and services, ensuring they meet customer needs and market demands.
  • Cybersecurity: Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect the company's assets, particularly during and after M&A activities.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure that all IT and technology practices comply with relevant regulations and standards, managing associated risks effectively.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage large-scale IT and technology projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the technology and IT budget, ensuring that investments align with the company's financial goals and deliver value.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with other C-level executives and business units to ensure that IT and technology initiatives support overall business strategies.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Required); MBA or relevant Master's degree. (Preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in IT and technology leadership roles, with a proven track record in digital transformation, product development, and M&A activities.
  • Prior experience working in an IT executive role in the Construction, Real Estate, Banking, Equipment Rentals, and/or Manufacturing industries. (preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of IT systems, software development, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to inspire and guide large teams.
  • Track record of managing large-scale IT and technology projects, related legacy system upgrades, digital transformation (Cloud & AI), Cybersecurity, and Mergers & Acquisitions.
  • Experience leading initiatives and strategies for infrastructure, software development, and data teams.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and financial performance within an IT and technology context.
  • Experience in industry-specific technologies or practices is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in IT Management, Cybersecurity, or Project Management (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are preferred.
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure technologies and vendors: Oracle, Microsoft, & Cisco
  • Familiarity with ERP and HR/Payroll systems (i.e., Dynamics GP and Paycom)
