Job Description

Forbes Marketplace is looking for a Copy Editor with editing and story optimization experience across a variety of topics, including personal finance, health, home, and small business, to join the team.

We’re looking to grow and streamline our optimization and editing processes across the organization. We aim to help guide our readers to make the best choices through best-ofs, product reviews, engaging content, and data- and SEO-driven journalism. Responsibilities:

• Improve the quality of our editorial content, ensuring it’s accurate, clear, consistent and up to date
• Provide feedback to editors and writers to improve editorial standards and practices, including diversity, equity and inclusion
• Fact-check, edit and produce error-free, best-in-class editorial content
• Manage optimizing and copy editing content across a variety of topics by working collaboratively with the global editorial team and following the Marketplace style guides
• Work with the Copy Desk Chief to refine style guides and best practices for the editorial team, including content, templates, imagery and social media standards
• Leverage data and SEO best practices to follow update and review cadences for our library of new and existing content
• Brainstorm and contribute to social content where needed

Requirements:

• At least 3 years experience on a related copy desk
• 3-5 years of experience in online journalism
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented
• Nimble and open to quick changes in strategy
• Demonstrably strong understanding of AP Style
• Experience with SEO best practices, willingness to learn and expand SEO skills
