About the job:
Kent is looking for a Construction Site Manager to be based in Houston, Tx to support regional construction projects.

Skills and Responsibilities: TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strong Health, Safety & Environmental ethos.
  • Manage and supervise the Subcontractors / Site Engineers.
  • Ensures that all construction works are undertaken to required designs, specifications, standards, and QHSE requirements.
  • Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.
  • Obtain all necessary permits and licenses.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Take action to deal with the results of delays, weather, or emergencies at the construction site.
  • Monitor site progress, including installation of required equipment against accepted programs and 2-4 week look ahead.
  • Make recommendations where extra sources or alternative work processes are required to maintain or increase performance.
  • Responsible for reporting site work progress to the Project Contracts Manager (PCM).
  • Monitor Project costs and identify deviations from the project budget in a timely manner for the Project Manager (PM)/ PCM.
  • Identify problematic design issues and recommend alternative and cost-effective re-design solutions.
  • Ensure the construction schedule is maintained.
  • Reports on changes and additions to contractual agreements by main contractors, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed records of all site activities are kept.
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
  • Represent the company daily to the client, consultants, and sub-contractors.
  • Committed to HSE requirements and all applicable legislations and contractual requirements affecting the HSE activities at the project site and administrative offices.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role. This provision intends to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the organization's dynamic needs, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned based on the employee's current workload and professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
  • Identify problematic constructability issues and recommend alternative and cost-effective re-design solutions.
  • All construction works are undertaken according to required designs, specifications, standards, and QHSE requirements.
  • Physical Effort and Work Environment
  • Duties performed at construction sites with generally harsh climatic conditions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Services Superintendent
  • General Superintendent and his team
  • Subcontractors
  • Scaffolding Superintendent
  • Lifting Superintendent
  • It is essential to maintain a good working relationship with the Project Manager, HSE Manager, Planning and Procurement Team, Project Construction Manager, Field Engineering Manager, Business Support Manager, Security Manager, Services Superintendent, General Superintendent and his team, Subcontractors, Scaffolding Superintendent, Lifting Superintendent
  • 10+ years' experience in Petrochemical or Oil and Gas projects in Construction.
  • Degree or Diploma (HND) in relevant technical discipline


Communication:
  • Strong communication skills


Behavior/ Core Competencies:
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and embrace charter values.
  • Foster good relationships and team working ethic with sub-contract teams to promote safe working practices and efficiency.
  • Experience working in an integrated team from diverse locations is required.
