Department Overview

The Wildfire Safety Compliance team is part of the Electric Operations Electric Regulatory Compliance department in Electric Engineering, where our vision is that together we create a compliance culture in Electric Operations that supports and exceeds safety, reliability, and customer and regulator expectations. Wildfire Safety Compliance is critical to achieving that vision with the Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) and our customers. The Wildfire Safety Compliance team is responsible for processing all Energy Safety regulatory compliance activities for PG&E’s electric distribution, transmission and substation operations as well as other regulatory compliance activities related to the Wildfire Mitigation.

 

Position Summary

This role supports the risk/compliance framework which enables the organization to operate in compliance with applicable standards, laws and regulations; identify, manage, and mitigate operational risk; and help develop and maintain the framework in response to changes to laws, regulations, and standards. For risk management, this role works with leaders to track operational risks and effectiveness of risk mitigation activities. May be limited to one regulatory agency or may include multiple agencies, laws, and regulations applicable to a specific department or area of the business.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland based on business needs.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $​105,000

Bay Area Maximum: $​169,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory policy and compliance concepts.
  • Clearly articulates recommendations and findings in both written and oral communications.
  • Works with all levels of leadership across functions to provide relevant compliance information and direction for decision making.
  • Develops and presents alternatives and strategies for responding to requests from various internal/external sources for information (including interpretation, clarification, background, analysis, and recommendations) to leader or more experienced co-workers.
  • Conducts non-standard research and analysis for information requests determining the best sources, approaches, or analytical methods to meet the request/need.
  • Conducts data analysis and modeling to ensure alignment with timeliness and metrics operating and customer experience.
  • Identifies individual data anomalies and develops remedies and resolutions to ensure accurate, complete, and timely analysis reporting.
  • May support the preparation of strategic briefing materials, summaries, communications, and recommendations for PG&E and regulators.
  • May support the monitoring and governance of implemented corrective actions regarding commitment and corrective actions to compliance issues.
  • Collaborates with leadership and team to coordinate the status of plans and workflow for future projects.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 5 years

Desired:

  • Experience in compliance, 2 years
  • Experience in risk management, 2 years
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
